Everyone exiting, impatient-

“Happy Diwali Sir!!”

Came the warm greeting from the student.

A lamp of joy kindled the eyes.

“Same to you”, the projectile burst,

Colouring, with cheerfulness,

Consciousness that was the canvas,

Hued in Indian tradition.
